Preston Golf Club has always received fantastic feedback from its many visitors. Of course, as members we are extremely biased – after all, the fabulous mix of holes offering challenge, risk and reward, bringing us back to play week after week!
Our visitors also love the course and often comment about the unusualness of finding such a tranquil parkland course, in the middle of Preston. In recent years our fairways have received tremendous praise for their ‘velvety’ feel and comments about the USGA greens have included the words ‘incredible’ and ‘consistent pace and quality’.
Beyond the course the friendliness of the staff and members is frequently praised and the range and quality of the bar food and drinks are admired.

We also continually look for ways to improve our course and clubhouse, and to encourage new people to join the club. To support this work, we’ve used the GolfMark accreditation scheme as a framework for development, and we were delighted when England Golf awarded full GolfMark accreditation to the club, in 2020.
The GolfMark accreditation tells everyone that this club is focussed on driving the game forward. To obtain GolfMark accreditation, the club leaders had to show what actions they take in relation to:
- Promoting golf club membership and all member participation in the sport, by offering a wide range of membership options
- Development of the club through practical business planning and improvement activities, including inter-community links
- Enhancing coaching and playing opportunities at the club, relevant to golfers of all ages
- Safeguarding children, young adults and older, vulnerable adults, through the application of appropriate policies and procedures.
