Andrew is our Club Professional and has been with Preston Golf Club since September 1997. With over 25 years of coaching experience and up to date knowledge of the game, Andrew has a wealth of skills to use when guiding improvements in the game of any golfer - from those new to golf, right up to fellow professionals. Andrew’s key belief, for the achievement of top quality coaching, is to educate the golfer in the understanding of their swing and then to build skills step-by-step. His high level of experience in golfing techniques, mean he can offer a wide scope of coaching opportunities including: showing someone how to pick up a club for the very first time; providing full analysis of a swing using the latest digital technology; custom fitting advice; or helpful tips to solve that niggling problem.
In recent years, Andrew’s passion to help has led to him being head-hunted, as a coach to various squads and development groups within Lancashire Girls & Boys Golf Association, and Saudi Arabia Golf Federation.
Andrew started playing golf at the age of 12. By the age of 16, Andrew had a long list of golfing achievements including England boys trials, club, county and national championships. At aged 17, Andrew embarked on his PGA training and became a fully qualified PGA Professional. Three years later, he was appointed at Preston Golf Club as Head Professional. Over the years he has also played a high standard of professional competitive golf, including reaching the final qualifying stage of The Open on several occasions.
Under the watchful eye of Andrew, the Preston Golf Club Driving Range & Academy continues to be one of the most popular facilities in the area - a purpose built 16 bay covered practice facility; indoor golf simulator; custom fitting suite; and a well stocked (and much appreciated) professional shop. In addition to all of this, Andrew runs the club’s large corporate golf days, and manages current and new sponsorship for the club.
